It's all about me.

I have been working as an illustrator/artist for over 30 years now and I have been lucky enough to have worked on a variety of different projects in that time. I haven't always been a full time artist, spending 13 years working part-time for the Scottish SPCA but at a certain point in my life i decided that the only way I could become the artist I wanted to be was to do it all the time and so I left the Society and set about painting. For a number of years I successfully exhibited paintings in a variety of galleries across Britain before the illustrator in me wanted to find a voice again. I found I really liked working on the illustrations in a digital format and completed several children's book projects this way. After an enforced break -due to illness- I came back to my work with a renewed zest for life, I wrote two anthropomorphic crime novels- the first two in a series of fifteen- and started working on large scale anthropomorphic paintings (you can see an example of them in the next page) Moodscape Minis came about after doing a creative reset course and thinking about how I could move forward with my landscape paintings, I found the 100 day project and started doing a ten minute sketch every day and this led me to produce some of them as paintings but keeping them at the same scale as the initial sketch -12cm x 12cm. If you are interested in purchasing any of the Moodscape Minis please check out my news page for the opening of my etsy shop or if you happen to be in Gourock, why not check out the Seagull Gallery where I am exhibiting.
